We said BRRRR…its cold out there! This week was all about the season of Winter. During group this week, the children talked about how we know that it is winter outside. We came up with a few things such as it gets colder, there are no more leaves on the ground, we have to dress warmer and it can snow! (Hopefully we get a lot on Christmas day!) This week the children worked on number recognition, patterning and shape matching at the math table. At language this week, the children worked on letter recognition and writing. Science has been a big hit with the children…they had to use the tools to help the Artic animals out of the ice. Which lead us into learning about ice fishing. The children were creative at the art table creating igloos with legos, creating a picture with sticks and using a fork to create a polar bear. We had some fun listening to Christmas music and dancing. We also worked on the letter of the week which was Ll. We wrote out Ll words, sang the song and read the Ll book. We also discussed all the fun things we can do in winter such as snowboarding, skiing and ice skating. We will end this fun week with music class. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
