This week we celebrated Hanukkah through various stories and learning experiences. Monday in art the children painted with droppers, so much fun creating rain drops. In language the children matched letters to letters on a Menorah and in math the children sorted pictures of what would go with sunshine, and what would go with rain. Tuesday in art the children glued scrap papers to paper to try and construct their own Menorah. In language the children engaged in a Hanukkah bingo game and in math they graphed shapes. Wednesday in art the children explored gluing tissue paper to create the Star of David. In language the children practiced writing words about Hanukkah using books to help choose a word they wanted to write. In math the children matched number candles to a numbered Menorah. Today in art the children did some chalk art and in language they practiced letter writing on chalkboards. In math the children engaged in a Hanukkah concentration game. Tomorrow in art the children will do some comb painting and in language they will trace letters with stickers. In math the children will work to graph primary colors. In science this week the children have been exploring spinning tops and dreidels and in the sensory table the children worked with ducks, watering cans, and cups. The children have also been playing the dreidel game every afternoon and they love it!
