It is cooking week and the babies are having so much fun reading about and playing with pretend food of all different shapes, sizes and colors. Our older children have played under a parachute and waved scarves. They have been practicing sitting at the table for meals and drinking from their cups. Some are even learning to take steps after standing on their own. They are all very curious and anything new that is out, becomes an exciting opportunity for them to experience something fun while also learning to be part of a group. They have matched lids with containers while dropping stuff into them and shaking them for some very interesting sounds, what a fun spontaneous experimentation. Our smaller babies are figuring out how to take the rings off of a stacking post and to drop them back on. Stacking blocks is a new skill many of them are working on but knocking them back over is much more fun! Our youngest babies are watching faces and experimenting with tummy time. Paint in baggies to manipulate is a great fine motor activity that many thought was loads of fun. Puppets and books have been watched by all as we talk about food from all over the world. It has been such a fun colorful week and we are all excited to move to the next week with new activities and opportunities.
