Aloha! This week was all about the Luau. We were busy this week looking at pictures of Hawaii, hula dancing and learning about luaus. We learned that luaus can have individuals who not only hula dance but play with fire. We made sure to let our friends know that we do not play with fire. We worked on letter recognition activities using sea shells and chicka chicka boom boom. We worked on patterning using sea shells and number recognition using fishing poles and fish. The children played with our ocean sensory bottles at the science table this week which were filled with water and fish! (Not real of course) Our friends enjoyed our sensory bin which was filled with water, starfish, fish, cups and plastic boats, airplanes and jet skis! At art our friends created finger print pineapples, tape resistant surfboards, and leis out of paper flowers and straws. We will end our week creating palm trees with forks and drawing hula dancers. We also tried something new this week…partners! In the past we would give the children stickers and pair them up with the matching sticker that their peer had. Don’t forget to ask your child who they played with today and where they played. This week we continued with our letter of the week and worked with Rr. To end this fun week, we will have Hula in the Coola! We will wear our best luau gear, do the limbo and hula dancing! We hope the children had as much fun as we did this week! We hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
Aloha!
