We introduced the theme with a different book each week, pictures and print.
Art
Monday- Fish bowl-painted with Karo syrup and glued red/blue fish
Tuesday-Green eggs and ham- glued eggs/ham and fork to paper plate
Wednesday-Wacky painting with cups
Thursday- Cat in Hat- glued white strips on red paper hat
Math
Cat in the hat one to counting with colored chips, counting with fish counters dropping them in red boxes, red ice cube trays and poms to practice same color counting, cupcake tins with green eggs, Dr. Suess experiment[ cornstartch , water and food coloring]
Motor Development
We practiced stretching rubber bands open to fit around solo cups, used small spatulas to flip eggs on cookie sheet for balance and eye-hand coordination, poked polka dot straws into foam pieces to make stand, green playdough with forks and smalls plates for pressing, poking and manipulating and breakfast cereal puzzles
