Five Senses Fun!

We introduced each sense each day with a picture and modeled the sense and have related activities along with art to help with getting familiar with our senses, how we use them in our daily lives.

Art

Monday- Touch glued bumpy materials onto paper

Tuesday-Smell- made paper flowers with cotton balls sprayed with rose smelling spray

Wednesday-Hearing- Rain stick and made our Leprechaun trap

Thursday- Seeing- painted with sunglasses on, on Easel 

Friday-Taste- Taste testing various foods[sour, sweet, salty}

Math

Animal colored chip clips with round stands to practice counting as a group or by self, Number colored eggs with egg cartons practice number recognition, flowers craft sticks with round foam rings to count how many you can put on, number and colored stacking cups in various sizes to stack in different orders and colored donut rings to make patterns by size.

Motor Development

Moon sand on trays to manipulate and feel texture, scented play-dough with tools to cut, press and make impressions, triangle bell for tapping on table and holding in hand to hear and make the different sounds, Magnifying colored glasses with small counters to see color change and string cheerios on straws for sturdy grip and manipulation.

Sensory Table

various lemons. limes, textured play food, scoops, small baggies
