It has been a week of our five senses and we have been using all of them to learn and grow!  We talk about our chunky little squirrel, Rufus, throughout the day and the children will now stand at the window and point when they see him, it is quite exciting.  We played with shredded paper in our sensory bin, listened to different types of music and shook our ribbons to them, and talked about all the different types and colors of the food that we eat every day.  We have talked about different farm animals and their sounds, using puppets and books.  They played with shakers and listened to the different sounds from the various types.  The small stacking shakers were out to discover, and not only did they make fun noises, but we were able to stack them up really high!  Our fine motor cubes were a big hit as they tried to figure out how to get the blocks in and out between the strings.  Our youngest babies listened to the song “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” while sitting on our laps and moving to the song, experienced peek-a-boo with scarves and listened to black and white books while watching the older children explore their own books.  It has been a fun week of discovery and we are all excited to see what next week brings!
