This week’s theme was St. Patrick’s Day. In language this week, we wrote on paper with green colored pencils, colored with different colored markers, wrote on chalkboard with green chalk, and colored on shamrocks with crayons. In cognitive development this week, we mixed blue and yellow paint, added baking soda to rainbow colored vinegar, built with colored rocks, and placed green sticky notes on green items found around the classroom. In motor development this week, we stacked sound and sort stackers, did puzzles, manipulated puzzles, and placed stickers on posterboards. In art this week, we painted with shamrock shaped painted with Q-tips, painted over clovers, and did a music circle time. In social and emotional development, we passed different colored items to our peers, and pointed to different emotions on a feeling chart. In social studies, we looked in a mirror and talked about our features. Tomorrow, we will use stamps on pots of gold for language development, count gold coins for cognitive development, run to different colored cones for motor development, and paint with gold coins in art. We also read various books this week and voted on our favorite for the Book Playoff. We will announce our vote tomorrow.
