This week’s theme was pets. In language this week, we went over pet words, stamped dog bones on paper, wrote on boogie boards, talked about animals using our felt board, and wrote with markers on dry erase boards. In cognitive development this week, we did animal puzzles, counted and sorted fish, added an artificial fish tank to our science table, matched different colored pipe cleaners to cats, and sorted different pets. In motor development this week, we manipulated animal stencils, animals connectors, placed fish on an ocean felt board, and blew feathers. In art this week, we painted a dog bone, glued fish scales onto a large fish, glued yarn onto paper and had music with Miss Mel. This week, we also talked about the pets we have at home (Miss Rasta does not have a pet). We also talked about using gentle hands when playing with our friends. Tomorrow, we will write on chalkboards with chalk for language development, match different animals to their homes in cognitive development, place animal stickers on paper in motor development, and make a paper bowl turtle in art. We also voted for our favorite books this week for the book playoff and will announce our pick tomorrow.
