It’s sports week and what a fun week it has been. Monday in art the children sponge painted and in language they dictated how to play baseball. In math the children looked at baseball hats and looked to see similarities and differences between them. Tuesday in art the children glued pasta noodles to paper and in language they practiced telling stories using pictures of a who, a what and a where. In math the children went bowling and counted how many pins they knocked down each turn. Wednesday in art the children painted with watercolors and in language they worked on answering when, where, how and what questions about sports. In math the children picked a small soccer ball out of a basket, identified the number and practiced writing it. Thursday was a busy one, we started swimming a little early so we could be done and ready for Coach Charlotte!! The children also engaged in a language activity to match lettered basketballs to the letters on a basketball hoop and backboard. In math the children engaged in a basketball jersey concentration activity. Tomorrow, we end the week doing some cookie cutter painting in art, writing football words in language and engaging in a sports bingo game in math. In the sensory table this week the children worked with sensory beads and the spiral.
