In The Jungle

It is Rainforest/Jungle week and lots of discussion about the animals that live there. Tuesday in art the children tore black and green paper and glued to a plate, and the plate was cut into a snake! This experience was a good one for small muscle strengthening. In language the children wrote their names on tree leaves and in math the children engaged in a rainforest bingo game. Wednesday in art the children did some finger painting, a fun sensory experience! In math the children matched butterflies by the patterns they had and in language the children practiced writing letters in a tray of salt. Today the children explored more fine motor experiences such as small fidgets, bubble balls, and bubble plates. In math they explored a rainforest animal concentration activity and in language the children dictated what they would see if they went walking in the rainforest. Tomorrow in art the children will glue together a toucan! In language the children will explore letters as they build rainforest words with magnet letters and in math the children will engage in a rainforest roll n’ cover activity. In sensory this week the children explores macaroni noodles with bottles and strainers and we also made some goop; a mix of cornstarch and water.
