This week’s theme was Fire Safety and Community Helpers! In language development, we did “fire” writing, boogie boards, manipulated foam letters and numbers, and wrote letters. In cognitive development, we completed puzzles, matched up fire trucks and ambulances, experimented with hot and cold water, and sorted letters into mailboxes. In motor development, we practiced stop drop and roll, ripped up construction paper, blew out tissue paper “candles”, and manipulated toy nuts and bolts. In art, we did sponge painting, finger-painting, a fire collage, and stamps and ink. In social-emotional development, we played Simon Says and pretended to be mail carriers. Tomorrow, we will practice pencils and clipboards, sort shapes, and do busy boards!
