With this weeks theme of Around the World, we have been using books to discuss, and show children from all around the world. Discussing what they wear, what they eat, how they learn, their families, and where they live. This experience helps the children see that while we all have differences, we are also a alike in other ways. Monday in art the children painted with bubble wrap and in language they matched greeting words. In math the children traced numbers with pasta. Tuesday in art the children cut out a pumpkin shape and glued a jack o’ lantern face to it. In language the children dictated how to make spaghetti and in math they matched flags of other countries together. Wednesday in art the children painted with fly swatters and in language they practiced writing their peers names. In math the children measured various times on the scale to see what was heavy and light. Today in art the children explored playdough, and this afternoon they will marble paint. In language the children tossed bean bags onto lettered plates. In math the children continued to explore weighing materials. Tomorrow in art the children will paint with vegetables and in language they will look at pictures from around the world and talk about what they see. In math the children will add pepperoni to a pizza! In the sensory table this week the children explored rice with spoons, veggie counters, and bottles.
