Many activities this week as we learn and explore our 5 senses. Monday in art the children drew fruit with scented markers and in math the children sorted items that matched any of the 5 senses. In language the children dictated something they touch, hear, smell, taste and see. Tuesday in art the children finger painted with cinnamon scented paint! In math the children engaged in an I spy counting game where they needed to find and cover all the gumballs that had the same number at the top of the paper. In language the children engaged ina letter matching activity. Wednesday in art the children practiced cutting and glued the pieces to an eye. In math the children practiced drawing shapes and in language they wrote, or traced words related to the 5 senses. Today in art the children glued eyes, ears, mouth, and nose to a potato head shape. In math the children engaged in a 5 senses bingo game and in language they dictated naming items they see that are from each color of the rainbow. Tomorrow in art the children will make an instrument and in math they will match items by the textures they feel. In language the children will do some sound matching with eggs. In the sensory table this week the children explored bells with bowls and tongs. The children have also been listening to music from the 1950’s and 1960’s music in the afternoons and we have them listen for the different instruments they hear. To add to it the children then air played the instruments they heard.
