We had a fun week playing at Bain Park. The children loved playing on the playground, running around with their friends, and going for a walk through the woods. We went to Fairview Lanes to go bowling and they had so much fun! They were very competitive and tried to get as many strikes as they can!! They told us that they had hoped we would go again next year because they loved bowling in their socks. After bowling, we came back to the center for lunch and for some treats that 2 friends brought in for their birthdays.
Ms. Joanne did some art with the children where they painted a wooded airplane. They used watercolors to paint. Some children did some blending using 2 or more colors while others only used one color. They took their time painting because they said they wanted to make sure they got every inch of the airplane. Next week will be the last week for art with Ms. Joanne.
This week’s theme is Music. We listed to different types of music, some children played instruments while others learned how to make musical notes. Some children painted, drew pictures, colored, etc while listening to music. It was interesting to see how they made their creations while listening to music! We talked about different instruments and if they have ever seen them. Some children said they hoped to play certain instruments while others said they have already played them.
We have been talking a lot lately about using indoor voices because some children tend to talk loud and we explained that being loud can bother some people who are sensitive to loud noises so we have been learning how to use our inside voices. We also have been talking about keeping our hands to ourselves because some of our friends are being very handsy and a bit rough when we are playing tag. We understand that the children are used to playing tag at school but we do have younger children who are not used to that type of play.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us!
