LEGO Week

It’s Lego week and they have been building with blocks big and small – what an exciting time for them!  Our older children have painted, dropped rings into containers, pulled taped toys off the wall, and practiced pushing our wheeled animals across the room with a one, two, three.  They tried on fire fighter hats and practiced pointing out different parts on their bodies (getting really good at toes, belly and head). Many of them are working on dropping clothes pins into bottles and then dumping them back out again.   The younger babies are working on holding their own bottles and clapping to music as we help them.  They have watched puppets, bubbles, and books and interacted with all of it in their own way.  We are working on social emotional concepts such as giving hugs and gentle hands.  The older children are having fun finding their friends around the room by pointing to them as we sing songs about them.  Outside has given them some physical exercise and sunlight which they love so much!  It has been a week with a lot of building and music fun and the children have been enjoying all of it.  Next week, we are looking forward to new activities and new ways to learn and grow.
