All About YOU!

This week was a short one, but a fun one! We took so much time with talking and sharing all about us! We compared how many siblings we had, where we lived and how we dressed. We decided we are all different, and that is okay! For math, we counted the letters in our names and then totaled, pointing out who has the longest name and several have the shortest names (we learned what a “tie” is called when there is more than one!). We practiced writing our names and saying the letters. We did some beautiful artwork (check out our back windows!) and also colored pictures of ourselves. The sensory bin was filled with dolls and warm, soapy water to give the babies a much deserved bath! For outside time, we played a lot on the patio and discovered a few more green beans from the Pre-K plant and got to try some fresh from the garden. We had some rain on Thursday, giving us time in the Great Room. We danced to music, played “The Floor is Lava” and got some energy out with running, galloping and even some bear crawling. We also had “homework” this week. We enjoyed seeing what everyone put in their brown bag to explain a little about themself. The clues were really good and helped us to understand each friend a little more. We will end our week with measuring our feet. We will first trace our shoe and then count how many squares long it is. We will also use the language table for decision making….”things I like” and “things I don’t like” and then explain why. We hope everyone has had a wonderful week of getting to know each other! We know the teachers had a wonderful week! We are excited for the new school year!
