We introduced the theme with a jumbo jungle/rain forest banner with various wild animals and forest theme. The children were called up one at a time to name their favorite jungle animal and point to it. This allowed an opportunity for all the children to interact together in a large group, building on social skills, language, and confidence speaking in front of others.

Monday- Glued various tree pieces together to make a coconut tree
Tuesday-Parrot- glued feathers to colorful paper
Wednesday-Snake- glued various colored paper squares and eyes to S shape paper
Thursday- Monkey- painted paper plates brown, glued on ears and nose
Friday- Tiger- Marble paint w/ black paint on orange paper
Math
The children placed dot stickers on each spot on play giant giraff’s to practice counting spots, we measured ceramic bones and bone grid by size ranging from small, medium and large, snake pattern mats with various shapes to make the shape on the boards, colored jungle animals with same color paper to match colors, name colors and learn colors, jungle memory match to learn new animals in the jungle while finding matches.
Motor Development
Large paper rain forest tree and large green dot stickers to practice peeling and sticking working their fingers and hands, Frog counters on logs to practice balance and eye-hand coordination/making frogs stick on logs, bug catchers with insects and tongs to practice finger grasp using thumb, index and middle fingers, jungle animal plates for lacing with strings.
