Winter will be arriving with snow and cold! We do live in the Cleveland area so we all know how unpredictable it can be! Unfortunately, it also brings frigid temperatures which makes it hard to get outside to play. We always know how to make some fun inside! We have have had snow ball fights (white pom poms) and did some “skating” as we used paper plates to glide across the carpeted floor. For art, we made snowflake pictures, snowflakes (see back window) and even an “igloo”! For math, we did some roll and cover with snow globes and also with evergreen trees. We patterned with snowflake “colors” like white, light blue and dark blue. For language, we have been working on our letter recognition and putting mitten in alphabetical order. We also did some dictation and drawings to “How my snowman melted…” We added more to the construction building station this week! We got another donation of wood blocks and Mason’s dad added two construction hats! Our sensory bin was full of )plastic) snowflakes, scoopers and small tongs. We added water for the “melted snow” effect! We read lots and lots of winter books this week. Some of our favorites include “The Snowy Day” and “The Biggest Snowman Ever”. We did lots of music and movement this week, too! Some of those favorites are KooKoo Kangaroo “Brrrr” and the Jack Hartmann penguin song. The letter of the week is “Ll”. We listed words that start with the letter and pointed out which friends have an “L” in their name.
Winter Fun!
