It is Valentine’s week and so many fun activities. Monday in art the children explored marble painting and in language they did some pre-writing practice to trace curvy lines. In math the children engaged in a Valentine’s bingo game. Tuesday the children explored a fine motor task to string small beads, lots of small muscle work and eye hand coordination. In language the children dictated what they will do on Valentines; day and in math the children patterned hearts. Wednesday in art the children created a collage with crayons and bingo dabbers. In language the children matched lettered hearts and in math they hunted for shapes around the room. Today was a busy busy day! The children passed out valentines and they stamped in art. In language they practiced writing letters on chalkboards and in math they explored foam shapes. Tomorrow in art the children will paint with Q-Tip’s and in language they will talk about who their friend is and why. In math the children will sort candy hearts using a graph. In the sensory table the children did some more fine motor work to tear paper. In the drama area the children were introduced to a hot cocoa stand. We have seen a lot of creativity and imagination with the cups and the children are doing a nice job scooping the felt cocoa into the cups. In the block area we added some transportation items, and more people. We also added more magnet building blocks to the block area with pictures as prompts to encourage more ideas of what can be built, so fun!
