Field Trip Fun - Summer School Age

This week in the Summer School Age room:

On Monday, we played at Rocky River Beach park. The kids raced up and down the hill, played on the climber, & we even found a four leaf clover! On Tuesday, half of the class went to the weaving studio & painted using different tools, such as flowers, ribbon, and Legos. The finished pieces are so neat! Merry Christmas....in July!! We hope that everyone has had a wonderful week because we know we did here in pre-k. This week we celebrated Christmas in July with a bunch of different activities. The children got a head start on their Christmas list for this year and they did not disappoint! Christmas!! So fun to engage in activities and read stories about Christmas, in the summer! Monday in art the children painted with Christmas cookie cutters, in math they traced numbers with colored gems and in language the children dictated 3 things about Christmas. Tuesday the children explored using their tongue to pick up a "snowball," (marsh-mallow). Celebrating Christmas - Infant

This week in the infant classroom the theme was Christmas in July! Here are a few crowd favorites. The infants loved listening to different holiday music on CD and making music together using different shakers and bells! The infants loved it when we sang jingle bells and practiced shaking our bells fast and slow. Fun in the Woods - Summer School Age

Coach Charlotte visited us twice this week to get our bodies moving & exercising. We traveled to Bradley Woods Reservation where we discovered ducks, frogs, geese, cicadas, turtles, and a deer! Even though the park was muddy from the overnight rainfall, we all had a blast. This week was all about construction! We figured we would learn more about it since it is everywhere you look in the Cleveland area right now! These boys and girls were so interested in all the different kinds of trucks! This theme has been an enjoyable one for the preschoolers this week, they love talking about what they know about construction nd ask questions about what they want to know. Monday in art the children constructed a building with magnet blocks, and then practiced drawing the construction on paper.
