Baseball, Basketball and More - Pre-School

Posted by [email protected] on July 29, 2021 at 2:30 PM

All about sports this week with our activities. Monday in art the children painted with circle stamps, in language they dictated how to play baseball and in math they sorted baseballs by size and then counted to see which had more and less. Monday was also bubble day! So much fun trying to catch the bubbles and we even tried not catching them to see how far away and/or how high up they would go. Tuesday in art the children painted with a spatula, in language they matched letter basketballs to the letter on the hoop and in math the children looked at jerseys and talked about which ones were the same and different and how. Wednesday in art the children painted with water colors, in language they continued to match letter basketballs to the hoop and in math the children engaged in a path game to get the hockey puck to the goal! Today was a swim day, and the weather was a little iffy this morning so we did some activities first. In art the children painted with cups, in language they practied writing letters as they wrote football words, and in math they traced numbers with bear counters. We did make it out for swimming and today the children had a ball running through the hose water, like a sprinkler!! Tomorrow in art the children will cut and glue to create a collage, in language they will work on more writing and come up with different sports words to write for the word wall. In math the children will roll golf balls into numbered cups and identify the number cup the ball rolled into. Tomorrow is also our indoor picnic!!
