This week in the infant classroom the theme is Community helpers and Fire Safety! We have explored so many fun things this week but here are a few of the groups favorites. The older infants enjoyed trying on fire fighter hats as we faced the play yard mirror! It was fun to not only explore the hats together, but we also tried to touch familiar body parts like our head or our feet as we watched our reflections! A book that we visited quite a few times this week is a sensory book called “Let’s Go to the Firehouse!” It shows different things we may find at a fire station as well as sensory patches on each page. The younger infants loved practicing turning pages with teachers help and feeling the sensory on each page. We also explored the metal reflective balls, pounding benches and finger painting at the low table or on the mini easel. It has been a wonderful week in the infant room but we look forward to our Nursery rhymes theme next week! Until next time.
