Playing With Our Food! - Young Toddler

Posted by [email protected] on January 13, 2022 at 2:25 PM

This week the children learned all about cooking! We added popcorn kernels to the sensory bin and read various books in regards to cooking like, Growing Vegetable Soup and Alphabet Soup. In art this week, the children painted with whisks and spices, stamped with pears, and glued colorful shapes onto a pizza. The children practiced their fine motor skills by using tongs to pick up corks and put them in containers. In math this week, the children counted and sorted eggs into cartons, cupcakes into tins, and sprinkles onto cupcakes. The children practiced their language skills by playing with magnet letters and cookie sheets and tracing letters in rice. On Friday, the children will stamp letters on a soup bowl, mix colors in different liquids, make s'mores, and create their very own ice cream cones in art. I know we're not supposed to play with our food, but just this once, could you blame us?
