Dental Health Week - Pre-School

Posted by [email protected] on February 10, 2022 at 3:25 PM

This week we have been talking about how to take care of our teeth and we had some fun activities the children have engaged in. Monday in art the children painted with watercolors, in language they dictated what a dentist does and in math they played a dental health bingo game. Tuesday in art the children painted with hammers, and in language they matched letters to a tooth. Wednesday in art the children painted with toothbrushes and in language they wrote dental words for the word wall. In math we did as a large group sorting out pictures of foods that are good for our teeth and bad for our teeth. Today in art the children tore paper and glued to a tooth, in language they traced letters with shapes, and we extended the activity to learn some letter sounds using pictures to help sound out the words. In math the children worked with bear counters and 1 to 1 grid. Tomorrow in art the children will paint with a marshmallow and in language they will hunt for letters hidden around the room. In math the children will roll a die, count the dots and then find the matching number on a tooth. This week in the sensory table the children worked with cotton balls and various size cups.
