This week the children learned about the 5 senses, how we use them and what they help us do. Monday in art the children painted with water bottles that had bells inside, in math they matched dominoes with colored discs discs and in language the children listened to alphabet soundtracks ton identify letter sounds. Tuesday in art the children painted with cinnamon and vanilla scented paint, in math they sorted pictures into what sense picture we use with it. In language the children came up with words of things we smell. Wednesday in art the children painted with bubble wrap, in math and in language they observed items and talked about them. Today in art the children created collages using scraps from the bin on the art shelf and in language the children explored tactile writing stones. Tomorrow in art the children will paint with foam brushes, in math they will play the mouse color cheese game and in language the children will dictate things they see, things they touch, things they smell, things they hear and things they taste. In the sensory table this week the children explored working with oatmeal, small bottles, measuring spoons and funnels.
