Everything Green - Pre-School

Posted by [email protected] on March 17, 2022 at 4:05 PM

This week the children explored Saint Patricks Day by enjoying everything green. On Monday the children created a pot of gold by spelling their names out on the gold pieces and in art, the children traced and cut out their handprints on different colored pieces of paper creating a rainbow. On Tuesday the children did a visual discrimination activity where they examined shamrocks and decided which one did not belong in the group based on their pattern and in art they created a rainbow connecting to a pot of golf by lacing yarn. On Wednesday the children played I spy only using green items and in art, they painted using gold coins from the sensory table. On Thursday the children celebrated Saint Patrick's day with a green snack brought in by many of the parents. During the day Miss Charollete came in and did a Saint Patrick's day-themed workout. They also glued the cereal Pops to a black pot and created shapes by using Pops and toothpicks. On Friday the children will be matching upper case and lower case letters using both ends of a rainbow and they will do a large easel painting using different shades of green and their imagination. This week the sensory table was filled with rainbow noodles but then suddenly on Thursday the table was emptied and filled up with green water by who we assume was the leprechaun who messed up our room that morning. Happy Saint Patricks Day!
