We Love Our Pets - Pre-School
|
This week's theme focused on learning about all the different animals that can be pets and the children loved sharing all sorts of stories about their pets and stories of what kind of pet they want. Monday in art the children painted with dog bones and in language they dictated to talk about their pet or their dream pet. In math the children added dog bones to dog bowls. Tuesday in art the children painted paper plates blue for an aquarium and in the afternoon added fish stickers. In language the children matched lettered fish to the lettered fishbowl. Wednesday in art the children painted with feathers and in language they matched upper case letters to lower case letters. Today in art the children glued spots to paper and in math the children strung fruit loops on a pipe cleaner and counted to see how many. Today we also added train tracks to the block area, and we had a lot of sensory activities out: rice with pots and scoops and the kinetic sand. Tomorrow in art the children sponge paint and in language they will play a bingo game. In math the children will work with pet animal counters and the 1 to 1 grids. This week in the sensory table the children worked with water, funnels, scoops and cups.
