Bugs & Insects - Young Toddler

Posted by [email protected] on April 7, 2022 at 4:50 PM

This week we entered the world of bugs and insects. In language this week we played with alphabet blocks, did Little Miss Muppet and the Itsy Bitsy Spider fingerplays, and we colored caterpillar print outs. We also read various books about caterpillars and bugs. In math and science, we sorted bugs by color, used magnifying glasses to examine insects, and placed pom poms on ladybug spots. For motor development we tore up paper for our art project, made bug imprints in play-doh and marched along to the Ants Go Marching In song. In art we glued torn paper onto plates and added eggs to create spiders, we used forks to paint, we used red and black tissue paper to make lady bug suncatchers, and we used marbles and white paint to create spider webs.
