Fun with Bugs and Insects - Pre-School
|
A fun week learning about bugs and insects. Monday in art the children painted with their hands to make hand print spiders. In language the children practiced writing bug and insect words, a good fine motor activity. In math the children matched number dots to the number on the ladybug. Tuesday in art the children glued together a ladybug, in language they dictated what bugs "bug" them and in math the children predicted how many bugs were in a jar. Wednesday the children worked with playdough to help strengthen those small muscles. In math the children matched the same number of bug counters to the jar with the same number. In language the children explored pencils and stencils. Today in art the children added scrap papers to a large flower petal, and then explored foam paint brushes on a poster board. In language the children played a bug and insect game and in math the children worked with 1 to 1 grids and bug counters. This week in the sensory table the children explored water with bug counters, ice cube trays, tongs and cups. We also had buckets of colored rice with strainers, gems and cups for the children to work with too.
