Easter Fun - Young Toddler

Posted by [email protected] on April 14, 2022 at 5:15 PM

This week's theme was Easter. We focused on language by reading various books relating to Easter, looking at different Easter items and learning new vocabulary, writing with chalk, and coloring on egg shaped paper. In math and science this week we rolled eggs down ramps, did puzzles, color matched plastic eggs, and counted Easter eggs. We worked on our motor development by sorting jelly beans into ice cube trays, manipulating play-doh with cookie cutters, open, filled, and closed plastic eggs, and filled baskets with different Easter treats. In art we finger painted a giant Easter egg, made a pom-pom bunny, glued orange items on a carrot and used a fork to paint chicks. We also added fun Easter items to our sensory table, such as Easter grass, and we had an Easter egg hunt and learned about grains and non-grains. Tomorrow we will play with magnet letters, do an experiment with peeps, thread beads on string, do a bunny hop, and paint using real eggs.
