Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! - Pre-School

Posted by [email protected] on April 21, 2022 at 3:35 PM

An important theme this week talking and learning about recycling and how it helps take care of the earth. Minday in art the children painted with blue and green, in language they traced letters with rocks and in math they engaged in an earth day concentration game. Tuesday in art the children painted a larger poster board, in math they played recycle bingo and talked about the various items that can be recycled. In math the children sorted recyclables (pictures), into the appropriate bin: paper, plastic, glass, cardboard, compost and aluminum. Wednesday in art the children scrunched up newspaper and painted with it and in math the children counted items in a row and then needed to show that same number using colored discs. Today in art the children panted with forks! In language the children looked around the room for "trash," ( crumpled paper), unfold it and identify the letter and in math the children did some shadow matching to match earth day images to it's shadow. Tomorrow in art the children will explore paint scrapers and in math the children will trace numbers with rocks. In language the children will practice writing their names. This week in the sensory table the children explored tearing, or cutting, paper.
