Exploring Gardening - Pre-School

Posted by [email protected] on May 12, 2022 at 4:40 PM

This week the children explored gardening and how much fun it is to plant out own fruits and vegetables. On Monday the children dicated how they thought a flower grows, in math they used dot stamps to fill in flowers by the matching color, in art the children painted with different fruits and as a group we planted to pots of flowers that we have been watering and observing throughout the week. On Tuesday, the children matched letters in a carrot path, in math they sorted flowers by color and shape and in art they made their own flowers pots where each flower had a letter of their name. On Wednesday, the children matched lettered flower pots to flowers and in art they painted by hitting a fly swatter on their paper. On Thursday in math we rolled a dice that decided how many seeds to put into each flower pot, and in art the children made their own flowers from different shaped petals and stems of their choosing. On Friday, the children will dictate what they need to make a garden, in math they will trace numbers on flowers, in science we will water our plants and guess what we think will happen to them over the weekend, and in art the children will paint their own flowers using bright paint colors.
