HO HO HO in July! - Pre-K
|
We had a fun week celebrating Christmas in July! We made Christmas lists, a palm tree Christmas tree and played with lots of green and red in the sensory table! We heard lots of Christmas books and wrote short stories about what we think Santa wears in the summer...his "off" time! We wrote Christmas words like holiday, reindeer, elves and presents. We even had a familiar visitor come back to the classroom just for the week... Steve our elf from December made an appearance this week just to remind us that we are always to be listening to our teachers, family and friends. Our science this week was a peppermint experiment. We put one mint in water and one in vinegar. We made some predictions first, and then watched as the mints changed over the week. A few math activities centered around patterning with (paper) Christmas lights and another we figured out what number was missing when the lights had numbers on them. Our field trips were fun! We went to two different places with giant hills! We can't pass up a hill and not roll down! Westlake Rec Center (the outside) has a pond, playground, walking trail and the best hill ever! We also went to Bradley Woods and walked their short trail, watched for frogs in the pond and again, ran up a hill only to roll down it! Summer is almost over and we are having the best of fun!
