Celebrating Christmas in July - Young Toddler

Posted by [email protected] on July 28, 2022 at 1:50 PM

It's Christmas in July! Minus the presents. This week our theme was Christmas and the children enjoyed incorporating the Christmas spirit in their activities. In language this week, we read various Christmas related books, played "I Spy" with Christmas themed objects, and wrote letters to Santa. In math this week, we counted Christmas ornaments on Christmas trees, we counted reindeer, and we played with puzzles. In motor development this week, we manipulated animal connectors, math tiles, and sound and shape stackers. In art this week, we painted Christmas trees, rolled ornaments around in a box with paint, glued tissue paper on Christmas trees, and colored with markers to create Christmas cards. Tomorrow we will play "Santa Says" to work on following directions, manipulate shape sorters and pound benches for cognition development, play "Pin The Nose on Rudolph" to work on motor development, and in art we will create handprint ornament keepsakes (so I guess there is a present in this after all).
