This week we learned all about black inventors and figures. In art we glued a variety of different people on a bus, we reinvented Garrett Morgan's stop light as we glued red, yellow, and green paper on our very own stop lights, and we painted with colored shaving cream. We developed our language skills this week by reading various books about celebrated African-Americans, we used bingo daubers to trace the word dream, and we listened to and sung different songs. In math and science this week, we played with magnet numbers, matched numbers on a phone, matched different colored peanuts, sorted pom poms by color, and did a color changing water and oil experiment. We had a blast outside as we threw snowballs at each other. Inside, we played Red Light, Green Light, twisted lids off of jars, sorted ourselves into different groups and raced cars down ramps. We learned about different food that gives us energy. We also washed our baby dolls in our water table and brushed and combed her hair in our dramatic play area. Tomorrow we will use our listening skills as we play Simon Says, count and search for stars, and make our own Underground Railroad.
