Five Senses

We introduced the theme with pictures of the 5 Senses and asked the children what they thought how to use each Sense. We briefly described each one with simple examples.

The children made flowers out of cupcake liners with cotton balls an we sprayed perfume on it for Sense of smell, For Sense of Touch, the children glued on various texted materials to feel and describe how each one feels, For Sense of Hearing , the children made shakers by decorating their bowls, adding ribbon and beans, For Sense of Sight, we painted on Easel so the children can see what they are painting while standing, and tomorrow for Sense of Taste, we will glue on various materials you can taste on a paper tongue shape.

Motor Development

This week, we explored and manipulated scented cinnamon play dough w/ tools, pounded shape benches to work our hands and grip of plastic hammers, explored with magnifying glasses to look at small and large objects while naming what we see , and Friday, we will string apple jacks on straws to practice our grip and manipulation.

For Math this week, we counted with colored and animal chip clips by clipping them around small bucket containers, we also practiced our colors by matching colored eggs to same color paper on the Math table, and matched same color eggs by grouping them and Friday, we will explore with colored Donut rings for patterning.

We made cupcakes today for tasting, measuring, mixing

We will taste many different foods- salty, sweet, sour
