This week’s theme was out of this world. In language development this week, we read various space themed books, looked at space pictures and practiced saying the names of planets, traced our names on planets, and used bingo daubers on rocket ships. In cognitive development this week, we sorted different space cutouts, sorted shapes, and practiced different signs with our aliens. In motor development this week, we space hopped, manipulated nuts and bolts, tossed asteroids at planet earth, and manipulated moon rocks. In art this week, we made spaceships out of paper bowls, painted moons with foil, and had an alien picnic. For our social and emotional development this week, we practiced identifying body parts while singing Head, Shoulder, Knees, and Toes, and practiced different words in sign language. In social studies, we all took on different roles during clean up and cleaned up specific items. In health and safety this week, we did some of our favorite exercises. Tomorrow, we will write on magnetic writing boards in language, count aliens in math, place stickers on a poster board in motor development, and make mini Saturns in art.
