All About Numbers!

lots of numbers

This week’s theme was numbers. In language development this week, we colored on ice cream cone cutouts with colored pencils, colored on star-shaped paper, wrote on magnetic writing boards, and colored on paper with crayons. In cognitive development this week, we manipulated math tiles, compared containers of objects, counted and matched dominoes, engaged in shape puzzles, counted pompoms, and did a walking water experiment. In motor development this week, we scooped pompoms into ice cream cones, placed stickers on a poster board, hopped on different numbers, threaded pipe cleaners into gears, and explored with magnet pieces. In social and emotional development this week, we played with and counted musical instruments. In social studies this week, we looked at and counted the people in our families. In art this week, we glued ice cream cones and scoops onto paper, painted with paint rollers, glued tissue paper onto paper plate monster, and glued spots onto ladybugs. Tomorrow we will engage with felt boards for language development, place red and black checker pieces on red and black squares for cognitive development, manipulate play-doh for motor development, make a graph depicting how many boys and girls there are in the classroom for social and emotional development, and make a handprint tree in art.
