We introduced the weather by using a weather board and move the arrow to the day’s weather. We read books, songs and word wall board with pictures and print. We also look out the window everyday and name the weather.

Thursday- Snow-  glued fake snow on paper

Math

The children practiced with a variety of weather related activities to work on their numbers, patterns and shapes. Sun number wooden round boards to name the number and drop into slot, rain drop number grid with markers to trace/color number of rain drops, snowman button color matching by placing same color button on snowman, and arrange various blocks by size.

Motor Development

We explored with activities to allow the children work on problem-solving, fine/gross motor skills. Yellow play-dough with cookie cutters, marbles with pie pans to manipulate the pan to make the marble go around the pan without dropping the marbles, cloud/line tracing grid with markers, magnet shapes and star colored links.
