The Roar of the Dinosaurs!

This week’s theme was dinosaurs and what a roar we had! In language development this week, we read various dinosaur books, colored on a ‘D’ cutout, drew our own “dinosaurs,” manipulated letter magnets, and colored on dinosaur cutouts. In cognitive development this week, we sorted dinosaur eggs by color, counted eggs, made salt dough dinosaur fossils, and attached different colored clothespins to corresponding colored dinosaurs. In motor development this week, we filled eggs with baby dinosaurs,  hunted for eggs, built dinosaur puzzles, saved the dinosaurs by removing the tape of them, and placed “bones” onto dinosaur cutouts. In social and emotional development  this week, we sang and did movements to “if you’re happy and you know it,” and went over different sign language signs. In social studies this week, we practiced words and signs to help identify and express our wants and needs. In art this week, we painted paper plates, painted dinosaur cutouts, painted dinosaur fossils, and we painted with dinosaur feet.
