In math the children played an outer space bingo activity that brought lots of talk about the planets. Tuesday in language the children dictated what they would bring if they went to space and in math the children engaged in a matching activity to match planet pictures. Wednesday in language the children explored their writing skills as they practiced writing planet words and then engaged their fine motor skills to string letter beads. In art the children did some free expression as they colored their own pictures. Today in art the children created stars by painting with q-tips and in language the children matched lettered stars., In math the children matched numbers to the numbers on the moon. Tomorrow in art the children will paint with cotton balls and in math they will sort planets in order from biggest to smallest. In the sensory table this week the children explored water with large and small bottles, funnels and small cups. The children have also been reviewing the rules of each area in the classroom to know what to do in the areas, and how many friends in each area. The children have also enjoyed various gross motor activities in the great room; they have been running, hopping, galloping, bear crawling, walking backwards and frog leaping. The children have played duck duck goose and red light green light. The children did various movements in the floor is lava activity and we have set up different obstacles for the children to do. We had the balance stones out, the balance boards and walking along a line of tape. They jumped from square to square and tossed bean bags in to hula hoops.
