This week’s theme was cooking. In language this week, we read various books about cooking and food, we wrote on chalkboards with chalk, stacked and manipulated letter blocks, wrote on boogie boards, and wrote on clipboards with pencils. In math this week, we sorted foods by color and matched different types of food. In motor development this week, we built with bristle builders, threaded pipe cleaners into colanders, completed an obstacle course, and manipulated busy boards. In social and emotional development this week, we played hot potato as a group and we “cooked” with partners. In art this week, we painted with whisks, made “spaghetti,” painted with apple halves, and painted with pasta. In science this week, we placed food items on a food pyramid and we baked cookies. Tomorrow we will color on paper with crayons in language development, match lids to containers in math, climb on the rainbow climber in motor development, discuss what foods we eat at home in social studies, and make a food collage in art.
Cooking Fun!
