This has been a busy week with all things that GO! We have had many discussions on how transportation takes us from one place to another. We listed 26 modes of transportation when we thought of some sort of vehicle that starts with each of the letters of the alphabet! For art, we used markers attached to cars and drove them around on our papers. We also made a picture of a vehicle using scraps. They are in the front window now and ready to impress you with skill and talent. We also made a paper boat and colored many many pictures of vehicles we love. Some math activities kept us busy with counting, sorting and even “driving” on shapes. Our sensory bin has been full of water and sailboats. We added Matchbox cars and the city rug to the block area to keep busy with building and moving. We have seen and heard a lot of recreations from the boys and girls car rides with their grown-ups! Be careful now…the children all know what the traffic light means and if you go through red, they will tell! We loved our outside time this week as we had various weather, but we still got to go out! One of the most exciting times was when we released our butterflies! We watched them fly right to our new flower we planted on the patio! So exciting! We wrapped up our project of “FLOWERS” with a visit from a special friend. Miss Karen came to teach us all about bees and how important their job is to get pollen. Her take-away from the lesson was…plant a flower, plant two flowers, cover your garden in flowers! We also got a giggle to see Miss Chasity dressed up in the bee keeper costume! What a fun week!
