It has been a fun week about Christmas in July and though it isn’t cold out, the babies are enjoying this holiday, heat and all.  They have been able to stick cotton balls to a contact paper Santa hat, play with gingerbread men, listen to Christmas music and stick Christmas trees stickers onto paper.  Other fine motor activities have included dropping cars down a long cardboard tube, chalking on chalkboards, dropping clothespins into juice bottles, and pulling scarves out of a wipes container.  They have also practiced stacking blocks and keeping them upright so that more can balance on top.  The younger babies have played peek-a-boo with scarves and explored red and green dyed ice cubes, they weren’t sure what to make of those.  They have shaken shaker toys to music and listened to books all about Christmas.  The music mats were out to experiment with crawling over them to make music play.  All while some of our children are working on walking, sitting, rolling and pulling up and getting back down.  It has been a busy week full of this fun mid-year holiday, and we are all excited to see what next week brings!
