Ahhh nothing like celebrating one of the jolliest holidays in the middle of summer! We started celebrating on Monday with a “wish list” and drew what we wanted if we could really get something for the summer holiday. We made a palm tree Christmas tree for our door and patterned and sorted Christmas lights. On Tuesday, we went to Elmwood Park in Rocky River. We had beautiful weather and even got to go on a hike! We also colored with red and green crayons and knocked over (paper) snowmen with letters written on them. Wednesday was swim day! We also made Christmas lights at art and figured out what number was missing in the row of Christmas lights. We used bows at the language table to find the letter on the Christmas tree. We heard several books and wished for just a quick little snow storm to cool us off! Thursday’s field trip was cancelled, but the fun was not! We played beach skee ball with pool floats and did some math as we added up our points! We did a dictation and drawing of what we think Santa wears in the summer. Some of the ideas were sandals, t-shirts and even bathing suits! We will end our fun week with wearing red and green or our favorite Christmas pajamas! All week, our sensory bin was filled with red, green and white pompoms to add to our ice cream cones (because who doesn’t want a festive ice cream treat right about now!?). We are enjoying our new drama area set-up. Stop on in and take a look at what we have been up to in the room! Here’s wishing you all a happy and jolly Christmas in July!
