This weeks artists theme has been a fun one. The children have been learning about the works of Andy Warhol, Claude Monet, Jackson Pollock, Vincent van Gogh and Picasso. Tuesday the children practiced cutting paper on a line, and they expplored creating with playdough. In language the children did some pre-writing work and connected dotd. In math the children sorted color counting bears and looked to see which color had more and which color had less. Wednesday in art the childrenexplored pop art by coloringb a picture of themselves with bright colors, and in math the children matched numbers. Today in art the childrene explored finger dabbing with fingerpaint and in math the children roolled a die to see how many shapes to add to a grid. In language the children matched letters on a letter paint palette. Tomorrow in art the children will try out some splatter painting, and in language they will draw a picture and talk about it as the teacher scribes their words. In math the children will sort fruit loops. In the sensory table this week the children explored water with paint cups and paint brushes.. The children have been very interested in the new magnet trains/vehicles, and we put them in science to explore more. The block area continues to be a hot spot, and some new enhancements were added to encourage the children to build. Some structures have been posted on the wall for them to try and build. The children have also been interested in driving cars along the wal so a board wasa created with lines for the children to drive their car along. The drma area will be transitioned into a hot coco stand and we are excited to see the children’s creativity with the materials and them.
