Art is Fun!

This week we learned about some famous artists in history, and we explored various learning activities using art. Monday in art the children created a self-image, using a mirror to look at their facial features. In math the children engaged in a Spanish number bingo game, and in language they matched English and Spanish color words. This was fun as the children practiced saying the color words in Spanish. Exploring the number and color words in Spanish incorporated the artist. Aurora Rayes Flores, culture into their learning. Tuesday’s artist, Jeff Koons, he was famous for creating sculptures and the children worked with play dough and other items to make their own sculpture. In art the children did free art with different color paints and paintbrushes. Tomorrow’s artist, Ansel Adams, a famous photographer. In art the children will create black and white art using white chalk on black paper.
