Hmm…what pet should I get? This week was all about our pets! We did a little show and tell this week and asked the children if they could share the pets that they have at home. Let’s just say, Miss Chasity and Miss Tara were in heaven with this week! That’s right…Miss Tara is back in action and we are thrilled!! 🙂 Our friends have the cutest fur babies. This week at the language table, the children worked on their letter recognition skills as well as their writing skills. At the math table, the children worked on their patterning, sorting and number recognition skills. At the art table, the children painted with feathers, used animals to make tracks, drew what type of reptile they would want and made a hand print fish in a bowl. We will end this week with painting our very own pet rock. At the science table this week, the children sorted animals by their habitat. This week was also all about the children! We celebrated NAEYC Week of the Young Child. Each day this week the children did different activities to celebrate them and we had some special guest as well. On Monday, Councilman Tom read to us. On Tuesday, we had Councilwoman Angela read to us and we made ourselves a tasty treat of s’mores! On Wednesday, we had the Beck Center for music class since it was Music Wednesday! We also played music using our own instruments we made with Miss Rasta and Scooter as a center in the afternoon. Thursday we all came together to make a handprint banner. On Friday, we had the older friends paired with the younger friends for work together Friday where we plan to build lego creations! We hope the children had fun this week learning about each other’s pets and celebrating themselves! We hope that you all have a fun and wonderful weekend!
