We can’t believe it’s finally Summer Camp! We have such a fun summer planned for the children, and this first week has already been full of great experiences. Goldfish Swim School visited and gave a mini presentation on water safety, and the children were thrilled to meet Bubbles. We also reviewed our rules for field trips and the expectations we follow here at the center. The children spent time learning about one another, asking questions, and getting to know the older kids in the group.

This week, we also learned about Under the Sea. The children explored different ocean animals, learned about the differences between oceans around the world, and discovered the layers of the ocean from the sunlight zone all the way down to the deep sea. After learning together, we talked about what we found most interesting and shared our favorite sea creatures.

They enjoyed a creative session with Ms. Joanne, where they made three colorful squeeze‑art projects. We also took a trip to the Westlake Rec Center Park, where the children had so much fun climbing, rolling down the hill, and playing with field toys. Later in the week, we joined Pre‑K for a visit to Nosotros Rock Climbing, followed by lunch at Madison Park.

Next week, we’re looking forward to visiting the Cleveland Zoo and spending time at Clague Park. We will also have our first water play day on Friday. Please make sure your child comes with a change of clothes, a bag for wet items, and a towel. Children should arrive with their swimsuits already on underneath their clothes. We’ll have another art session with Ms. Joanne, and Coach Charlotte will be joining us — the children are already excited to see her again.
